A source told journalists on Thursday that the four persons died at different hospitals in the state on Thursday where they were taken to for treatment.The source said, "It is disheartening that the death toll as a result of the attack keeps rising as four persons have died due to injuries sustained during the siege."
He said there was apprehension that the death toll might rise further as there were scores of people receiving treatment in various hospitals in Konduga and Maiduguri.
The source, who is a medical doctor, also revealed that most of those at the hospitals were being treated for gunshot injuries and severe burns.
Most of them, he said, were in critical condition.
Fear continue to grip the state over the next place to be attacked by members of the Boko Haram insurgents who were said to have threatened to attack Bama after Tuesday's invasion of Konduga.
Many residents of Maiduguri were seen discussing the attack, expressing fear that the state capital was not in any way immuned from the sect's attack.
Residents of Marari, a community very close to Konduga, were said to have fled their homes in fear of possible attack by the sect.
Though the village has never been attacked by the sect, the villagers were said to have moved to Maiduguri for refuge.
The exodus from Konduga continued on Thursday as many residents of the troubled town could not but leave for fear of being attacked.
Meanwhile, food items were moved by the state government to the town to feed the people who are still living in fear.
