"The house was a duplex so big that if you are in a room upstairs you won't know what's going on downstairs. So I came down normally, it was 6:30 am to 7 am pretty early, and I heard a knock. Ah, who's that, Pastor Biodun. I couldn't say anything because what he doing here this early?.

"Immediately I opened the door, he just pushed me. He didn't say anything, didn't utter any word, he just pushed me to one of the chairs in my living room and I saw him, he was removing his belt.

"So I was like what? And he said, 'keep quiet, do what I want and you will be fine'. At this point, a whole lot was going on in my head because he was someone I had put up here and I thought was really really concerned about me. I had already filled him in the place of a father that could speak to me, guide me and he was there about to do something I did not believe.

"When I was about to react, he covered my mouth and when he did he said, Busola, listen to me and you will be fine, just do what I want you to do.

"I didn't struggle, I just left him and he brought out his penis. I was wearing a nightgown and pant, he pulled down my pant found difficulty to enter I was grunting, I would cry and he eventually penetrated, blood dropped on the floor.

"At that point, he finished what he wanted to do, had an orgasm and he zipped up. He left me there, I just sat on the floor and he went out.

"It looks just like an event but after that whole lot damaged within me. He entered his car, came back with Crest a soft drink with green content. It was already opened so he just poured it in my mouth and I had to swallow as he did that.

"He tapped me and said, you should be happy I'm the one that did this to you and he said I'll see you and he left.

"He said, 'be happy a man of God did this to you, disvirgined you'. At this point he was already a pastor in Ilorin, his wife had given birth to their first child Shindara and I was in the choir."

When SaharaReporters called Pastor Fatoyinbo, his number was not reachable. An email of inquiry sent to info@cozaglobal.org.ng also remained unanswered at the time of filing this report.

“Nigerians and friends of the nation expressed the strong belief that independence would bring prosperity to replace poverty, peace to replace insecurity and joy to replace years of anguish and mourning.

“Many years down the line, especially 59 years after, the Coalition of United Political Parties regrets that the nation has again returned into bondage under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The Buhari administration that rode into power in 2015 on the promise of bringing change to the country has turned Nigeria into a huge joke among the comity of nations.

“Instead of positive change, the All Progressives Congress government has only succeeded in unleashing immeasurable pains, division, incompetence, banditry, tribalism, and hopelessness among other ills on Nigerians in full measure.

“For the nation’s 59th independence anniversary, there is indeed absolutely nothing to celebrate about.

“Buhari has so far displayed incompetence in administering this nation. His leadership style has rubbished all the efforts made by the nation’s founding fathers and past leaders to reposition the country for the benefit of all.

“At the moment, the nation’s economy is at its lowest ebb. There is an atmosphere of insecurity across the nation’s landscape. Terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping among others have become the order of the day.

“Under Buhari, the rule of law has been set aside as his administration chooses which court orders to obey and which ones to reject.

“The administration has inflicted fear on the Judiciary by harassing and arresting judges at will, therefore desecrating the temple of justice.

“Opposition parties note that if Nigeria continues in this same path under Buhari, the country is heading towards imminent collapse.

“We hope and pray that Justices of the nation’s Supreme Court will resist the siege placed on the judiciary by the present administration and do the needful on the appeal of the opposition presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, that is currently before them.

“The judiciary needs to stop Buhari if the country must move forward. The justices can rescue Nigeria from Buhari and stop it from collapsing.

“We assure Nigerians that true independence will come to them and the country under a better administration, and not under Buhari administration.”

Buhari's Disqualification

Three Nigerians – Kalu Kalu Agu, Labaran Ismail, Hassy Jyari El-Kunis
– filed the appeal, anchored on 12 grounds, before the Supreme Court
to challenge the July 12, 2019 judgment of the Court of Appeal.

The Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku
Abubakar, raised a similar issue in their petition before the
presidential election petitions tribunal.

The three appellants had, on their part, commenced their case before
the Federal High Court in Abuja in 2018, alleging that Buhari falsely
claimed to possess a school certificate he never had.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed of a federal high court in Abuja, in his
judgment delivered on May 2, 2019, struck out the suit for being
statute-barred.

A three-man panel of the court of appeal led by Justice Tinuade
Akomolafe-Wilson, in a unanimous judgment delivered on July 12, 2019,
affirmed the federal high court’s verdict, dismissing the suit on the
grounds that it was statute-barred and the court robbed of
jurisdiction to hear it on merit.

Delivering the lead judgment of the court, Justice Mohammed Idris held
that the matter had become statute-barred having not been filed within
the 14 days period which the cause of action arose, as stipulated
under Section 285(9) of the Nigerian Constitution.

The appellants, through their counsel, Ukpai Ukairo, on July 24, 2019,
are urging the apex court to set aside the verdicts of the federal
high court and the court of appeal.

Olawale Oguntause, the chief medical director of the government hospital, confirmed that the rape victim was brought to the facility.

Oguntuase, however, refused to confirm or deny if the female victim was raped.

"As I am speaking to you, I can only tell you that the lady was brought to the hospital over a rape case. But the results of the medical examination carried out on her is not yet ready,” he told SaharaReporters.

Victor Akinpelumi, the university’s spokesperson, said an investigation had been launched into the incident.

"The university has set up a panel to look into the matter," he said.

A resident of Ikare, Ibrahim Ayodele, said he saw some enraged students when they came to report at the station.

"The incident is true because I saw the students in Ikare Police Station where they came to report the case. Many of them were angry and even threatened to protest the rape case by shutting down the road,” he said.

A police source in Ikare confirmed the rape case in a telephone chat.

He said some friends of the victim visited the station on Wednesday around 7 pm to lodge a complaint.

"Some students came and report the case here and we have started our investigation but we are taking the case to our headquarters in Akure.

Dangote gives ways to solve the issue of Electricity in the country Click HERE for MORE

Mr. Dangote advised that the country needed to promote import substitution for foreign exchange accumulation through proceeds from exports.

He called for a public-private partnership to boost the non-oil sector of the economy and added that Nigerians should invest in the development of the non-oil sector which had been left in the hands of foreigners.

“Government need to encourage non-oil sector growth rather than depending on proceeds from crude oil to pay salaries.

“Proceeds from crude oil sale should be for major investment in the country,” he added.

He urged the federal government to improve more on the power sector, saying, “No business will thrive with business owners generating powers themselves.”

Mr. Dangote said that all stakeholders must come together and support the government in finding a solution to power challenges in the country.

Apart from power, Mr. Dangote suggested that government focuses more on three areas which include finance, manufacturing and agriculture.

According to him, Asian Tigers concentrated on these three sectors for them to be where they are.

He further urged the government to focus more on the fiscal policies for the country to move to the next level.

The business mogul said by next year, the country would have exported eight million tonnes of cement to African countries from the present six million tonnes.

Mr. Dangote added that Nigeria would also be the biggest exporter of fertilizers in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia, noted that government policies had supported the production of petroleum, cement, and fertilizers.

Mr. Ovia commended the government on broadband penetration in the country, saying it had boosted banking activities.

He supported Dangote on the need for consumer credit and said banks were doing their best on it.

Mr. Ovia, however, noted that the process had been slow because of the challenges associated with people given accurate data for know-your customers (KYC) process.

Also, the former Managing Director of Stanbic IBTC, Peterside Atedo, urged the CBN to continue with the effort taken in reducing the inflation rate from 18 percent to as low as 11.37 percent as at April 2019.

Mr. Peterside said the CBN should use the same pace to bring the country’s inflation rate to a single digit.

Women makes request to The senate

We therefore request that you:

1. Solemnly remind all the distinguished Senators charged with the responsibility of “screening” the nominees for ministers, that more than any other moment in our history, they have a responsibility to Nigerians to act diligently in terms of their engagement with these nominees.

2. That you remind and require them to also serve as advocates and representatives of the millions of excluded groups as well as women of all ages who have a lot to contribute to the future of the country but are ignored and marginalized.

3. That you remind our honorable senators to bear in mind that, what they say and do as leaders in chambers, can positively advance our collective existence which in actual reality should mirror the country’s demographics, with a focus on equitable gender representation as well as the inclusion of diverse skills, expertise and knowledge.

4. That you encourage all senators to speak up and challenge government at all levels on the matter of women’s inclusion. Specifically, that they demand that equity is done in terms of the numbers, spread, roles and location in governance and government by female nominees (such that the few women on any list are not consigned to insignificance).

5. We ask that Senate draws the attention of the President and governors to Nigeria’s commitment to several National and International obligations such as the United Nations SDGs – which specifically put an onus on Nigeria to dramatically improve on its embarrassing levels of inequality.

6. We ask that Senate note in particular, that 30-35% has been reserved in some national policy documents, and that within our National laws, there are provisions that categorically call for the inclusion of youth (not too young to run) and persons with disabilities. We ask Senate to recall and operationalize the provisions of the 2006 National Gender Policy and the constitution of the ruling APC on these issues).

7. We ask you and other distinguished Senators to send a clear message to the Executive that women and other groups excluded from fair representation are your political constituents. As responsible leaders/ representatives of the people, we ask you to object to any list by the Executive that significantly excludes your constituencies who have informed you of their desire to be fully involved in the issues that affect them.

8. Lastly, we insist that the inclusion of constituents is actually an indispensable strategy for stemming the multi-faceted dimensions of political, social and economic crises facing Nigeria.”

“The letter titled ‘Kano State Emirate Council Law, 2019: Demand Letter’ states clearly that; ‘The coalition of 35 Civil Society Groups under the above-mentioned group (UMBRELLA OF KANO CONCERNED CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS) are curiously studying the unfolding events in the running of Kano State affairs especially in recent time, as it relates to the lingering face-off between the Government of Kano State on one hand and the Emir of Kano on the other hand.’

“Reminding specifically that, matters that arose from the aftermath of Kano State High Court decision nullifying the Kano State Emirate Council Law, that was enacted by the State House of Assembly, which eventually paved way for the enactment of another Law, creating additional 4 First Class Emirates, which also empowers the Governor to take disciplinary measures against any erring emir, ‘…should be effected,’ according to the letter.

“The letter was signed by Comrade Ibrahim Ali, Chairman of the Coalition, which continues that, ‘Soon afterwards, the same Law which repeals all the existing Emirate Councils Laws, and consolidates it in the Kano State Emirate Council Law 2019, was again been challenged first by the purportedly 5 kingmakers from one of the 5 Emirates established by the said law.’

“The letter lamented that, even the ‘…second litigation was initiated by the so-called Kano State Elders who indulged their group in their understanding that, the Law was aimed at distorting 1000 years of heritage or thereafter of Kano.’

“After narrating all the disagreed areas in the letter, the group demands that; That the action of the Emir of Kano Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II of continued undermining the constituted authority of the government of Kano State and its organs, is not only unconstitutional but is an effort to create a state within a state. Which no responsible leadership will tolerate and allow to remain unabated.’”

The CSOs, Anwar, said suggested that; “with the recent decision of Kano State High Court, His Excellency shall proceed and ensure the full take-off of the Council of Emirs in the State. So as to stop the current distraction and generation of controversy.”

He said the CSOs also added that “if the Emir of Kano fails to submit to the authority of the government of Kano State, we call on the Governor of Kano State on a strongest term, to act strictly in accordance with the provision of Kano Emirate Council Law 2019 in order to heed the state forward.”
