I should believe that anybody capable of coming out with such a wicked and twisted lie is as well as wishing him dead. But the sooner they realize that God is the creator and custodian of all lives, the better for them. “May I therefore use this medium to inform the public that Obi did not suffer any heart attack or any debilitating illness. He felt a bit feverish, which is one of the pangs of humanity, visited a hospital in Anambra State and that is all.

Mr. Peter Obi is hale and hearty. J“Though the reactions of many are that the wish of those liars for Obi should visit them, Obi’s position is that we should continue praying for the harbingers of such wicked news to realize that life belongs to God. The PDP also commented on the Buhari’s recent statement that leadership of the National Assembly led by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were not patriotic for not speeding up the approval of the 2018 budget.

In its reply to the President’s statement, the PDP said: “Mr. President’s personal attacks on the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were totally uncalled for and speak volumes of his disposition about democracy.

“Moreover, President Buhari should end his showboating on the war against corruption. He must admit that he failed because his administration, which swims in the ocean of corruption, cannot fight corruption.

“This is an administration which thrives in concealment; under which over N14 trillion belonging to Nigerians have been frittered by officials, who have not been investigated or prosecuted.”

“Furthermore, it is disappointing that Mr. President has no soothing words for millions of compatriots who have been subjected to the worst form of economic and social misery under his incompetent and corrupt administration

“The party, however, urges Nigerians not to despair but continue in their determination and prayers to retrieve the stolen presidential mandate at the tribunal so that our nation can have a purposeful government that will be truly alive to its responsibility to the people.”

Ex-APC Chairman explains why Oshiomhole lacks capacity to rule the APC

“He lacks the capacity to manage the different interests and tendencies that constitute a political party. He engages his mouth before engaging his mind, so he offends party members. So, how does that constitute booby traps by Odigie-Oyegun, the erstwhile chairman?

“Already, the Deputy National Chairman has confirmed that Oshiomhole runs the party without recourse to the NWC. He acts in direct opposite of decisions taken by NWC. No minutes of the NWC meetings which in any event take place outside the party secretariat.
“How would you not have crisis in states with the confusion that Oshiomhole created when he gave the states freedom to choose their methods of picking candidates for elections? Much of the crisis in states arose out of sheer incapacity on the part of the current chairman. How has this Oshiomhole incapacity become booby traps by Odigie-Oyegun.

“Many party men were aghast at the unfairness and injustice meted to them during the primaries process. Only a bad carpenter quarrels with his tools.”

The Chief Press Secretary to Oshiomhole, Simon Egbebulem, could ot be reached for reaction, but the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the party, Ini Okopido described  the statement as one of the numerous attempts to give the APC chair a bad name.

Okopido said some elements within the party “who are not happy with the discipline being brought to bear on the party are the ones sponsoring such foul languages against him”, adding that “as far as the party in the Southsouth is concerned, Comrade Oshiomhole has done nothing wrong and therefore the party in the zone are prepared to support him to the last.”

He said that the Southsouth chapter of the ruling party will resist any attempt to force Oshiomhole to resign, adding that some of those who failed to secure the party’s  ticket for the last election have decided to make themselves tools for the disintegeraation of the party.

"Since I have decided to come here, you have to accept what I have said here. And please, if you do not want to hear the truth, never invite me.

“So let us talk about the state of public finance in Nigeria. We have a number of very difficult decisions that we must make, and we should face the reality. His Excellency, the President said in his inaugural speech that his government would like to lift 100 million people out of poverty, it was a speech that was well received not only in this country but the world-wide.

“The number of people living with poverty in Nigeria are frightening. By 2050, 85 percent of those living in extreme poverty in the world will be from the African continent. And Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo will take the lead.

“Two days ago, I read that the percentage of the government's revenue going to debt services has risen to 70 percent.

“And then, you continue subsidizing petroleum products; and spending N1.5 trillion per annum on petroleum subsidy. And then we are subsidizing electricity tariff. And maybe, you have to borrow from the capital market or the Central Bank of Nigeria to service the shortfall in the electricity tariff, where is the money to pay salaries, where is the money for education, where other government projects."

See reason Why HEDA Reacted to Goje CORRUPTION Case

Reacting to the quashing of the case, Mr. Olanrewaju Suraju, Chairman of HEDA, said that the withdrawal of the case cannot be justified and it only solidified claims by providing more evidence that the corruption fight of the President has been compromised.

He said, “The action of the FG confirms the suspicion that Goje trial has been waved aside because of his decision to step as the Senate President for President Mohammadu Buhari's prefered candidate, Senator Ahmed Lawan.

“This withdrawal has no justification except to confirm the rife speculations that the case was compromised to meet "political considerations” as in previous cases taken over by the AGF office.

“The AGF had set "bitter precedents" that the fight against corruption is selective depending on the political camp the suspected culprits belong.”

Suraju stated that HEDA would seek all legal means and inform international organizations of the subversion of rule of law going on in the Buhari’s administration.

"The withdrawal is in bad taste and this group will deploy all the constitutional legal means to defend public interest in this particular case”.

“The international community would be notified of this subversion of rule of law and justice by the present regime.

“Bilateral laws and agreement between Nigeria and other foreign nations will be explored to exposed both the government and the suspect. Constitutional provision on Nolle Prosequi is not to pervert justice but protect public interest”, said the organisation’s Chairman.

The six respondents to the suit affected by the restraining order are the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), Department of State Services, Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Code of Conduct Tribunal.

In a ruling delivered by the judge on returning to the courtroom after taking about 45 minutes to prepare it in his chambers, the court likened the restraining order issued on Tuesday to an order directing the parties to the suit to maintain the status quo in respect of the probe.

Ordering them to suspend the probe, Justice Taiwo said he granted Saraki’s prayers to avert a situation where the court would be faced with a situation of fait accompli.

He added that granting the order was in line with a settled principled of law that once a suit was filed, all parties to it must refrain from taking any action capable of rendering the suit nugatory.

He added that the law allows such an application to be granted in a situation where the applicant would likely face “hardship” between the time of serving processes in the suit on the respondents and hearing and determination of the suit.

Justice Taiwo then directed the applicant to serve the court processes on the six respondents who he also directed to file their response within five days of being served.

He adjourned further hearing till May 23, 2019, when the respondents will have an opportunity to challenge the ex parte order by arguing their objection to Saraki’s motion on notice.
