Another Ondo FMC doctor attacked by gunmen

Barely a week after a medical doctor of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo, died mysteriously in a fire incident in Akure, Ondo State, another doctor of the hospital, Muyiwa Alonge, has escaped death as gunmen invaded his house.

Boko Haram Kill 15 In Borno Village Kautikari

Building set ablaze, as brothers row over inheritance

Two persons have been arrested and detained by the Police for allegedly setting a building ablaze in Ondo town, Ondo State, over disagreement on the owner of some shops within the building.
Afric TV gathered that two brothers had disagreed over the ownership of the shops in the building they inherited from their late father.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from publishing names of nominees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for national and state assembly elections from Ondo State.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed issued the preservative order on December 30, 2014, Tuesday, after listening to contempt proceedings initiated against the electoral body by the Olu Ogunye-led executive and some aspirants to the House of Representatives.

IGP Pledges To Find Missing Policemen Dead Or Alive

Four months after no fewer than 35 mobile police officers were declared missing following Boko Haram attack on a Mobile Police College in Gwoza, Borno State, the inspector-general of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, has pledged that the Nigeria Police would find the officers dead or alive.

The IGP made the pledge in Nasarawa State where he gave the sum of N7million to 14 women who were wives to some of the missing 35 police officers, Leadership reports.

Abba, who gave the sum of N500, 000 to each of the women, explained that the gesture was to alleviate their suffering.

My certificates are with military, Buhari tells INEC

A former Head of State and the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has told the Independent National Electoral Commission that his academic qualifications and credentials are with the military.

A visit by journalists to the headquarters of the commission on Monday in Abuja revealed that Buhari’s academic qualifications were not on display, unlike those of other Presidential candidates, including President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.

2015: IBB may intervene in Jonathan/Gov Lamido face-off

My certificates consumed by fire, Sambo tells INEC

Ahead of the 2015 general elections, Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo has told the Independent National Electoral Commission that his Bachelors and Masters degrees certificates in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, have been consumed by fire.

Sambo, who is the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, made the declaration in the documents he filed with INEC and displayed on the commission’s office in Abuja although the details of the fire that consumed the certificates were not given.

Plane with 16 children, 146 others disappears

There was grief across the globe on Sunday as two separate disasters in Indonesia and Greece put the lives of 562 air and sea passengers   at high risk.

The first disaster was the disappearance of a Singapore-bound AirAsia commercial jet carrying 162 people from the radar in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Kaduna PDP senator, Zagi defects to APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kaduna State yesterday announced that Senator Caleb Zagi, who represented Southern Kaduna Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011 on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has formally defected to the party.

This was the second time that Zagi had left the PDP for the APC.

Bloody Monday: Bombers hit Gombe, Bauchi, kill 30

No fewer than 20 people lost their lives with 25 others sustaining various degrees of injuries in yesterday’s bomb blast at Dukku motor park in Gombe.

In like manner, 10 people were killed yesterday evening in a  blast that occurred at the ever-busy Central Market in Bauchi with scores sustaining serious injuries.

Eyewitnesses said a female suicide bomber carried out the act as a fully loaded bus was about to depart. The bomb was planted near the bus, filled with passengers, said Mato Yakubu of the National Orientation Agency.
