A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Akure on Monday ordered a 23-year-old lady, Ajowele Busayo, to be remanded at the Olokuta prison for allegedly setting her lover, Anthony David, ablaze.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ayodele Atandeyi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 14 at about 9.00 a.m. at Liberty Street, Basiri Area of Akure.
The accused is a teacher in a private primary school where the children of the victim were pupils.

Atandeyi said the 44-year-old victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbours before he later died.
The prosecutor said the offence was contrary to section 316 and punishable under section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37 Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
Atandeyi, who told the court that he had three witnesses to testify in the case, applied for an adjournment to enable him forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The magistrate, Mrs Charity Adeyanju, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Olokuta prison pending the receipt of legal advice from the DPP.
Adeyanju adjourned the case till Nov. 1 for mention.(NAN)
