
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has redeployed 32 Commissioners of Police to various formations across the country as part of efforts to invigorate the Force.
Some of the affected officers include Ibrahim Idris, who is now the CP, Police Mobile Force; Pius Imue, Admin. (Department of Logistic & Supply); Felix Ogundeji, Police Mobile Force Training;
Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, CP Port-Authority Police , (Western Port) and Michael Ogbodu, CP, Homicide FCID, Abuja.Some of the affected officers include Ibrahim Idris, who is now the CP, Police Mobile Force; Pius Imue, Admin. Also redeployed were B. Sobulo, now Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; Ekechukwu Nwodibo, Legal, FCID, FHQ Abuja; Etop James, Community Policing, FHQ, Abuja; Joshak Habila, Counter-Terrorism Unit, FHQ Abuja; Damilila Adegbuyi,
Special Fraud Unit, FHQ, Abuja and Rasheed Akintunde, CP, Intelligence, FIB FHQ, Abuja, and others.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Mike Okiro, has commiserated with the management and staff of the Sun Newspaper as well as the family and friends of late Pastor Dimgba Igwe over his death.
Okiro described his death as painful and a great loss to the journalism industry, especially now that professional reportage is needed more than ever to foster unity in the nation
In a statement by his Media Assistant, Kayode Ibitomi, on Tuesday in Abuja, the PSC chairman, echoed the earlier statement by Abba, that no stone would be left unturned to find his killer.
While praying the God Almighty to grant his soul eternal rest, Okiro urged the management of the Sun Newspapers and the deceased family to be strong at heart, “as God will give them the grace and fortitude to bear the sudden and irremediable loss.”
