Imo Guber Election: Gov Ihedioha gains Victory At Supreme Court
According to Naija news Report, the Governor of IMO state, Emeka Ihedioha has won against Samuel Nnaemeke Anyanwu who had gone to court to challenge Ihedioha’s emergence as the PDP candidate in Imo State during the last governorship election.
The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Governor Emeka Ihedioha in the case instituted against him on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
Samuel Nnaemeke Anyanwu had gone to court to challenge Ihedioha’s emergence as the PDP candidate in Imo State during the last governorship election.
He had faulted Ihedioha’s victory at the PDP governorship primary.
However, a five-man panel of the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed Anyanwu’s case and upheld the earlier judgments of the trial and Appeal Court in Owerri which held that he could not prove his allegations of manipulation, thuggery among other vices, which he claimed marred the process.
The apex court in a unanimous judgment, ruled that Anyannwu did not sufficiently prove his case against Ihedioha.
Justice John Okoro, in the lead judgment, dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit and also awarded a N200,000 cost against the appellant.
