BREAKING: Many more killed As Boko Haram Attacks Another Village in Borno
The terrorists Group known As Boko Haram has yet again, killed many villagers in an attack on Jakana in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The terrorists who attacked the village at about 6:30 pm arrived in six-gun trucks, shooting sporadically, Naija News understands.
It was gathered that Policemen and the Nigerian military had withdrawn from the village two days earlier.
Speaking with Daily Trust, a resident, Babagana Adam, said the insurgents arrived at the village in six military utility vehicles mounted with anti-aircraft guns.
“We thought the troops had returned because they have everything similar with soldiers until when they started shouting ‘Allah Alkar’, then everyone fled the town, they operated freely, they were breaking shops, looting and carting away foodstuffs.
“I don’t know how many people have lost their lives, but definitely, many might have died due to how they (the terrorists) were shooting. As I am speaking with you, I am on the tree and many children don’t know their parents’ whereabouts. We are helpless,” Adam said.
A security source, however, disclosed that troops have been deployed to Jakana to engage Boko Haram terrorists.
“Yes, as I am speaking with you, our troops are already in Jakana and they are engaging the terrorists; they (insurgents) are cowards,” the source said.
The Presidency on Tuesday insisted that the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists have been defeated.
The Presidency made this known while speaking on the 10th anniversary of the outbreak of Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.
