Suspected Diesel Thief Electrocuted By An Electric Barbed Fence In Plateau State

A man, suspected to have attempted stealing diesel from a compound, died on Monday morning after he was electrocuted by an electric barbed fence.

Afric TV learnt that the suspect, Mr. John Aboy, was killed on Dagin Farouk Road, Jos, Plateau State. The incident was said to have taken place at about 3am.

Man, 36, rapes 13-year-old girl

A 36 years old man has allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl in Wunti Street, opposite Eagle Roundabout, Bauchi, Bauchi State.

The suspect, Uchenna Idam, who resides in Tambari Housing Estate, was said to have raped the minor when he met her alone in the house.

Police destroy newspapers over N2,000 monthly fee in Anambra

Newspapers and magazines of different media houses worth thousands of naira were for three days destroyed under the Flyover Bridge New Parts Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State by men of Ogidi Police Station, following vendors’ refusal to part with money for some policemen.

The policemen attacked the vendors between Tuesday and Friday last week, in spite of a letter to the vendors from the local government exempting them from those prohibited from doing business at the spot.

Civil Defence arrest 100 vandals in Bauchi

The Bauchi State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, yesterday said it has arrested 100 suspects over alleged vandalism of government facilities.

The suspects allegedly vandalised government facilities, ranging from telecommunication cables,  electric cables and transformers as well as other public utilities in the state.

Onitsha tanker fire kills pregnant woman, 3 others, injures 20

No fewer than four persons, including a pregnant woman, were feared dead yesterday, while 20 others sustained various degrees of injuries as a gasoline-laden tanker somersaulted and exploded on the New Auto Spare Parts Market Flyover, Nkpor, near Onitsha, Anambra State.

The accident, which occurred in the afternoon as a result of what eyewitnesses said was brake failure and loss of control on the part of the driver, also wiped out thousands of livestock, tubers of yam,

$9.3m: #BringBackOurGirls# campaign group to sue FG, Oritsejafor; confirms where about of Chibok girl

The #BringBackOurGirls# campaign group, yesterday, said it has concluded arrangement to sue the President, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and the federal government over the $9.3 million cash found in pastor Ayo’s private jet in South Africa, that was claimed to be meant for the purchase of arms for the Nigeria government.

Boko Haram destroys 500 houses in Adamawa

No fewer   than 500 houses were destroyed in the Kubi and Watu villages in Michika Local Government Areas of Adamawa State as the suspected Boko Haram insurgents operated unchallenged in one of its recent attacks.

Members of the community, who spoke on the telephone from their hideouts told Afric TV that the absence of military personnel in Michika and its environs was responsible for the heavy damage inflicted on them.

Another church building collapses in Edo

Barely two weeks after a church building collapsed in Uzama Street, Off Oliha Quartres, in Egor Local Government of Edo State, leaving one person dead and injuring no fewer than three others, another church building has collapsed at Asoro Slope, off Ekenwan Road in Benin.

The church auditorium, which belongs to the Liberty Power Bible Church Incorporated, was said to have collapsed around 1.30pm after a heavy rainstorm on Sunday.

Gunmen invade Enugu varsity, shoot 3 students

300 Boko Haram members surrender in Cameroon

No fewer than 300 Boko Haram fighters have surrendered in Nigeria’s neighbouring country Cameroon in the past three weeks,  Cameroon’s defense ministry  has said.

Lagos employs 80 female LAGBUS drivers

Synagogue tragedy: S’Africans to sue TB Joshua

Two South Africans who lost relatives when a church hostel in Lagos State collapsed have told the BBC they intend to sue Nigerian evangelist TB Joshua.

The two men, who both lost sisters in the collapse, are appealing for more families to come together in bringing a case against the preacher.

At least 115 people, including 84 South Africans, died when the multi-storey building fell down earlier this month.
