Xenophobia: FG set to compensate Nigerian who lost property in Attack
According Naija news Reports, The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has Urged all Nigerians who had their properties destroyed during the xenophobic attack in South Africa, will have to be compensated for their loss.
Onyeama made this known as he addressed newsmen, the minister said: “In the first place we addressed the issue of compensation, there has to be accountability and there has to be the responsibility for compensating all those Nigerians that asserted loss and we are going to push for that.”
Speaking further, he said security agencies of both countries will have to work together to forestall any future occurrences of such nature.
He said, “The two security forces, South African and Nigerian, we can have an arrangement where there will be co-operation on the ground in South Africa to arrest such events and occurrences”.
