Fayose denies sending message to Buhari After victory at Tribunal
According to Naija news Reports, Ayodele Fayose The Former governor of Ekiti State, has Allegedly denied sending a congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari over his victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT).
Naija News reports that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) on Wednesday dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The PDP and Atiku were challenging the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the February 23, 2019, presidential election.
Delivering judgement, Justice Mohammed Garba, who led the five-man panel, said: “This petition is accordingly, and hereby dismissed in its entirety.
“In the final result, and I have come to the conclusion which is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not proved any of the grounds of the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.
“This petition is accordingly and hereby dismissed in its entirety.”
Following the ruling, a statement emerged on social media claiming Fayose congratulated Buhari over the victory.
But reacting in a post on Twitter, Fayose wrote: “Nigerians should disregard any congratulatory message issued in my name on the outcome of the Presidential Election Judgment.
“My party has indicated its intention to appeal the judgment, and as a party man and believer in the PDP/ATIKU 2019 project, I can’t author such a statement.”
