JUST-IN: Reps sends message to Buhari over 2020 Budget
According to Naija news Reports, The House of Representatives on Tuesday ,has pleaded with the President, Muhammadu Buhari to lay the 2020 Appropriation Bill before the National Assembly.
The Green Chambers made this known at it resumed plenary after an annual recess that lasted almost two months.
Delivering his opening address, Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila stated that the 2020 budget must align with national development objectives.
He said: “It also allowed us to begin to prepare the ground for the 2020 Appropriations Bill, which we expect will shortly be presented to the National Assembly by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
“We look forward to receiving the executive’s proposals and making sure they align with our national development objectives as well as the expectations of the Nigerian people.”
Speaking further, Gbajabiamila said the recent nation roundtable discussions convened to seek reforms on the budget process were intended to take a critical look at issues relating to the development, funding, implementation and evaluation of the national budget.
