2020 ELECTION: Edo State Gov. Obaseki Sacks all Appointees
According to Naija News reports, Godwin Obaseki, The Governor of Edo State has fired all political appointees in the 8th Local Government council areas of the State, Obaseki had earlier this month sacked all his Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants.
The Governor had appointed 192 Special Assistants representing each ward in the state and 54 Senior Special Assistants comprising three persons from each local government areas.
Subsequently, Obaseki appointed 18 Special Assistants (females) on Gender.
However, according to a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie, the sacking of the SAs and SSAs was with immediate effect.
The sacked aides have been directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
But, the Edo state government announced a new list of individuals to be sacked in a three-paragraph letter released on Monday evening.
This online medium understands that those affected were Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Secretary to Local Government and Supervisory Councillors.
It was gathered that the sacking of the political appointees was supposed to affect only those in Edo North senatorial district where the present national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole hailed from, but it was later changed to the entire LGAs across the state.
