JOB SUMMARY
The Automotive Fleet Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles to support the business. He/She ensures proper use and care of physical assets, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with service centers and internal customers, and performs regular equipment and facility audits.

JOB SUMMARY
The Automotive Fleet Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles to support the business. He/She ensures proper use and care of physical assets, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with service centers and internal customers, and performs regular equipment and facility audits.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Works with service centers to ensure Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) are conducted per automotive procedures.
Monitors repairs and performs vehicle audits to ensure vendors adhere to safety, regulatory, and vehicle appearance standards.
Ensures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires, etc.) to support business processes
Plans and coordinates equipment repairs with internal and external groups (i.e., drivers, operations, and vendors) to maintain operations
Monitors key expense indices (e.g., replacement parts, tires, labor hours, equipment, etc.) to identify and implement cost-saving strategies and provide feedback to appropriate levels in the organization
Maintains equipment and component functionality through regular maintenance to minimize unnecessary replacement costs.
Conducts facility audits to ensure compliance with UPS (e.g., a clean, orderly work environment), local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Association, Department of Transportation, etc.).
Works with outside vendors to determine scheduled downtime for vehicles to minimize impact on operations.
Maintains a file of up-to-date vendor contracts and legal agreements to meet regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with Industrial Engineering department to determine vehicle assignments and distribute new package cars and trailers.
Contacts center team to request additional vehicles and troubleshooting expertise during vehicle breakdowns.
Works cross-functionally with other groups (e.g., Operations, Logistics etc.) to identify and resolve issues and prevent equipment and service-related problems.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
A Technical/Vocational Degree would be an advantage
A training aptitude is strongly required
