VACANCY - NATIONAL PROGRAMME MANAGER
The Federal Public Administration Reform Programme (FEPAR) Nigeria is seeking a dynamic. results driven and dedicated individual to assume the role of National Programme Manager.
FE PAR is funded by the UK Department for International Development and is supporting Nigeria's commitment to strengthen its central management institutions in order to improve the capability of the country's core public management areas, including policy and planning. human resource management, budgeting and service delivery. The programme is a large, complex and multi-faceted initiative that is currently midway through its 5-year lifespan.
JOB DETAILS:
The role of the National Programme Manager is to provide strategic leadership and effective management of the programme. She/he will be accountable for:
Strategic leadership
Effective management of the programme and the performance of staff and consultants
Maintaining constructive relationships with key government officials, clients and stakeholders including DFID
Ensuring cohesion among various components of the programme.
Ensuring efficient and effective management of resources
Driving for agreed programme results
The individual we are looking for will have:
Relevant post graduate qualifications
A track record of successfully leading large complex programmes in an international development or related context
Track record of delivering results in a challenging
environment
Extensive and varied multi-country experience of public administration
An ability to effectively manage relationships in a complex and challenging environment
An extensive knowledge of current public sector reform theory and an ability to translate that theory into practical, results-oriented action
An understanding of the challenges facing public sector reforms in Nigeria or similar settings
An understanding of the political economy of Nigeria and/or expertise in conducting political economy analysis
Ability to perform within the discipline of a results based management framework
Neutrality within the Nigerian political system.
