Bishop Ezeokafor, who made the call at Umuona in Aguata local government area of Anambra State, said with the Ebola virus scare now in the country, it was important that the striking doctors returned
to work to be able to contain the possible epidemic that could result from the disease.
While urging government to dialogue with the doctors to find a common ground to end the impasse, the cleric enjoined Nigerians to turn to God and pray that the very infectious and fast killer disease did not spread in Nigeria.
He said: “Every profession has its ethics and for the doctors, I know it is life first. If you strike by not treating people, they will die and I appeal to the doctors and the government to resolve this crisis so that they can continue to save lives.
“There is not enough excuse to give when someone who the doctors can save dies and my appeal is that in the interest of the masses, let them go back to work.”
