Information leaked that the weapons were smuggled in from Turkey, under a Bill of Laden which was filled out stating that the container was conveying wash hand basins.
Colonel Hameed Ali (Rtd.), the comptroller general of the Customs Service, in a chat with newsmen, stated that a customs officer who had disregarded due process and cut the seal of the container, had been arrested.
A clerk has also been arrested in connection with the discovery.
