father in-law, Chief Ezekiel Ukodie, said that it was wrong to blame the spate of insecurity in the country on President Jonathan’s lack of courage or selfish political considerations.
The former minister, on the issue of Boko Haram, said that nobody could say with certainty the genesis of Boko Haram, just like the root cause of ISIS and other militia groups.
Bozimo said that it could not also be right to say that economic reasons such as unemployment were the cause of the religious fanaticism and the related reign of violence in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
He also rubbished the United States for its insincerity to Nigeria in the country’s efforts to muster international support to fight the Boko Haram insurgency.
He said: “You can see what is happening all over the world. I doubt if it is because of economic circumstances. I don’t subscribe to that. When I left (as Police Affairs Minister) in 2007, Boko Haram had just started rearing its ugly head. They were coming in from the Borno axis and I visited there. They burnt down police stations.
“We thought it wasn’t serious or that it was a passing thing, we did the best to arrest the situation. So, I don’t think it is about unemployment.”
