Here are some comments NAIJALOADED gathered on Twitter:-

@JajaPhD, ”Sowore would have been treated with respect and decency if he were the leader of Boko Haram or some other mass-murderous group of bandits.”

@SirLeoBDasilva, ”EFCC ran hard PR for Naira Marley, now DSS is running hard PR for Sowore. It’s only a matter of time before Nigerians pay attention to everything Sowore says.We don’t know how to handle cases in this country.”

@Chydee, ”You are not safe in Nigeria. All our institutions are in full control of the executive. You are not safe. If someone like Sowore who is in the public eye, runs a media house and is being represented by Femi Falana can be treated this way, YOU ARE NOT SAFE.”

@Omojuwa, ”Forget your political affiliation, what happened to Sowore today is an attack on your freedom and dignity as a Nigerian citizen. It should never happen. It is a disgrace on the Nigerian government and it should never be allowed to stand! #FreeSoworeNow #FreeSoworeAlready.”

@OgbeniDipo, ”A Lawyer hit Sowore’s head in this video. Imagine a Lawyer doing that inside the court of law? I hope someone else took a picture or a video. I hope the Charge and Bail Nuisance is found and made to explain why he hit Sowore.”

@Osi_Suave, ”Institutions are the foundation upon which a society is built. There is a valid court order respect it. The show of shame by the DSS today over the sowore saga is disgusting and has no place in any working country.”

@OgbeniDipo, ”I suspected yesterday that the SSS will try to re-arrest Sowore but I didn’t know they were going to be that unfortunate and do it. It’s a shame on a government that goes around the world claiming to fight impunity.”

DeLordEmperor, ”Don’t be angry with DSS. Their job is to obey orders. So don’t think for a second that their illegal act of rearresting Sowore did not come from Buhari and Osinbajo. DSS won’t dare disobey Court order right inside a Courtroom if their bosses didn’t tell them to do so.

@frediecruze, ”The Government is more concerned about suppressing the masses, more than BH, Marauding Herdsmen, ISWAB, Bandits and Kidnappers.
Tell me any one of the above arrested and treated like they did Sowore today?”

@DuruchibuzorE, ”On the Sowore’s abduction by the DSS, not unexpected. desperate dictators don’t give up easily. It’s just a shame on us all, if we can’t stand up to this evil tyrant.”

“Till today, many Kwarans have been wondering what problem the Governor has with the late Oloye Abubakar Olusola Saraki or what the late politician did to offend him. It is surprising that of all vacant plots of land in strategic places across Ilorin township, the one that Abdulrahman found useful for his vengeful plan is the one owned by late Dr. Saraki. It is beyond comprehension why a Governor would set as his main agenda the objective of undermining and waging a war of attrition against a man who is no longer around.

“This action is clearly a manifestation of vengeance and it shows that this Governor is not out to serve any public purpose or pursue any development agenda. In his narrow-mindedness, he believes his victory at the polls is an empowerment, entitlement and enablement to settle scores, provoke and pursue inter-family rivalry. Those who voted for the party in power in Kwara State and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq obviously did not vote for the man to enable him wage war against Dr. Olusola Saraki and his legacies. They expected development and fulfillment of promises.

“If the Governor believes people are not taking stock of his misguided and deceptive actions and that because he is in power, he could do whatever he likes, he must be a joker. Also, this war against the Sarakis will not successfully veil his unpreparedness for governance and divert people’s attention from the glaring lack of visionary, clear-cut plan to deliver on his empty promises to the people. He definitely cannot get away with all the atrocities he has been committing.

“Since the outcome of the elections in March, despite the fact that there are clear grounds to challenge the results in court, I have decided to demonstrate maturity, statemanship and sportsmanship. I have chosen not to make comment on the policies, programmes and actions of the administration in Kwara State or that of its head. Also, I deliberately stayed away from the State to avoid creating any distraction for the administration. My decision is borne out of a genuine restraint to enable the administration settle down and fulfill its numerous promises to the people of our state.

“However, seven months down the line, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has shown that its cardinal Programme is to wage war against my late father and I. He has demonstrated that his only competence and astuteness is in the area of viciously assailing the late Oloye Saraki and I. Definitely, he is a man with no sense of history. Enough is enough. Now, he has crossed the line.

“Perhaps, I should let it be known that if Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq thinks he is taking all these actions to get at me, he is only deceiving himself. There is no basis for competition between us. Our paths cannot cross because the status that he is struggling to attain, Almighty Allah has given it to me many years before now. I became Governor 16 years before him and served out my constitutional limit of eight years. Within the period, I was Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum. I have moved on to serve in the federal legislature and by the grace of God, I headed the National Assembly as the number three man in the country. No matter, how well he tried to rewrite history, it is on record that I left Kwara State a lot better than I met it. In fact, the University that he is struggling to rename was established by my administration as just one out of many legacies we left behind. This Governor needs a lot more efforts, years, Intelligence and resources to attain the level Allah has taken me, not to talk of my late father, Dr. Olusola Abubakar Saraki, the Senate Leader in the Second Republic. As Governor, I used the position to serve the people and during the period I did not dishonour his own father or anybody’s father for that matter.

“Just as I did after the election, my advise to Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq that he should devote his time and energy to providing good governance and genuine development of the state.

“It is well known to the Governor that I fear nobody, except Almighty Allah, the ultimate owner of all powers. With all his subterranean and open moves against my family, person and property, I remain unmoved. However, his open antagonism against my late father and his legacies is unwarranted and will not be tolerated. He has definitely gone beyond bounds as he cannot be allowed to ride roughshod on the deceased. In this war against my late father, he will not win.

“This Governor has shown that he is not a man who wants peace, co-operation and development. He believes that a constant attack on my family and I is all that he needs to win the hearts of Kwara people. The need to provide good governance is secondary to him.

“However, it should be made clear to Abdulrazaq and his administration that their attack on my late father cannot erase the legacies of Oloye. No evil design, negative plot or propaganda can successfully rewrite the history of Kwara State. This plot against my late father will not stand. And I will like to make it clear that we will contest this petty, malicious, dubious and bias action of a parochial, vicious and vindictive administration through all legal means. We are sure this is not an action taken in public interest. Rather, it is done in pursuit of a selfish and devious objective”, Saraki stated.

Onnoghen challenges CCT issued for his suspension Click HERE for MORE

In another appeal, Onnoghen is challenging the ex-parte order the CCT issued for his suspension, insisting that the CCT erred in law by granting an ex-parte order for his removal.

He maintained that the tribunal is yet to determine whether or not it has the jurisdiction to try him.
In his substantive appeal, Onnoghen argued that Umar Danladi ought to have excused himself from presiding over his trial. Onnoghen posited that the tribunal erred in law and occasioned a miscarriage of justice.

On April 18, the tribunal declared Onnoghen guilty on all the six-count charge brought against him by the Federal Government.
Dissatisfied with the decision of the three- man panel of the tribunal, Onnoghen again headed to the Appeal court seeking for redress.
He, therefore, filed 16 grounds of appeal to challenge his conviction by the CCT.

Before the appellate court is a seven-point reliefs by Onnoghen, praying for an order of the court to set aside his conviction, and upturn the order for forfeiture of his assets to FG.
Further in the appeal, he urged the court to discharge and acquit him of all the charges preferred against him.

Dear Compatriots,

1st October each year is an opportunity for us to reflect and thank God for his endless blessings on our country.

It is also a time for us, collectively, to:

Remember the sacrifices made by our Founders and great leaders past; by soldiers, by distinguished public servants; by traditional leaders, by our workers —- sacrifices on which Nigeria has been built over the 59 years since Independence in 1960; and

Rededicate ourselves to attaining the goals which we have set for ourselves: a united, prosperous and purposeful nation in the face of 21st-century opportunities and challenges.

In the past four years, the majority of Nigerians have committed to Change for the Better. Indeed, this Administration was re-elected by Nigerians on a mandate to deliver positive and enduring Change – through maintaining our National Security; restoring sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth and Development; and fighting Corruption against all internal and external threats.

This Change can only be delivered if we are united in purpose, as individuals and as a nation. We must all remain committed to achieving this positive and enduring change. As I stated four years ago, “Change does not just happen… We must change our lawless habits, our attitude to public office and public trust… simply put, to bring about change, we must change ourselves by being law-abiding citizens.”

SECURITY:

Good Governance and Economic Development cannot be sustained without an enabling environment of peace and security. In the last four years, we have combatted the terrorist scourge of Boko Haram. We owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant men and women in arms, through whose efforts we have been able to achieve the present results. We are also grateful to our neighbours and allies – within the region and across the world – who have supported us on this front.

The capacity of our armed forces to defend our territorial integrity continues to be enhanced by the acquisition of military hardware as well as continued improvements in the working conditions of our servicemen and women.

The Ministry of Police Affairs has been resuscitated to oversee the development and implementation of strategies to enhance internal security. My recent assent to the Nigerian Police Trust Fund (Establishment) Act has created a legal framework to support our Police with increased fiscal resources to enhance their law enforcement capabilities.

These initiatives are being complemented by the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force. This clearly demonstrates our commitment to arrest the incidence of armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes across our nation.

We remain equally resolute in our efforts to combat militant attacks on our oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta and accelerate the Ogoni Clean-up to address long-standing environmental challenges in that region.

The recent redeployment of the Niger Delta Development Commission from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs underscores our commitment to enhancing the living standards of our communities in the Niger Delta, through coordinated and appropriate programmes.

Our attention is increasingly being focused on cyber-crimes and the abuse of technology through hate speech and other divisive material being propagated on social media. Whilst we uphold the Constitutional rights of our people to freedom of expression and association, where the purported exercise of these rights infringes on the rights of other citizens or threatens to undermine our National Security, we will take firm and decisive action.

In this regard, I reiterate my call for all to exercise restraint, tolerance and mutual respect in airing their grievances and frustrations. Whilst the ongoing national discourse on various political and religious issues is healthy and welcome, we must not forget the lessons of our past – lessons that are most relevant on a day such as this.

The path of hatred and distrust only leads to hostility and destruction. I believe that the vast majority of Nigerians would rather tread the path of peace and prosperity, as we continue to uphold and cherish our unity.

ACCELERATING SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE ECONOMY GROWTH

This Administration inherited a skewed economy, where the Oil Sector comprised only 8% of Gross Domestic Product but contributed 70% of government revenue and 90% foreign exchange earnings over the years. Past periods of relatively high economic growth were driven by our reliance on Oil Sector revenues to finance our demand for imported goods and services. Regrettably, previous governments abandoned the residual Investment-driven Non-Oil Sector, which constituted 40% of Gross Domestic Product and comprised agriculture, livestock, agro-processing, arts, entertainment, mining and manufacturing activities that provide millions of jobs for able-bodied Nigerians and utilize locally available raw materials and labour for production.

To address this imbalance, our commitment to achieving economic diversification has been at the heart of our economic strategies under the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, which I launched on the 5th of April, 2017.

This medium-term development plan charted the trajectory for our economy to exit from recession and return to the path of sustainable, diversified and inclusive growth for Nigerians. Pursuant to these reforms, the economy has recovered and we have had 9 successive quarters of growth since our exit from recession. The exchange rate in the last 3 years has remained stable, with robust reserves of US$42.5 billion, up from US$23 billion in October 2016.

Learning from the mistakes of the past, this Administration is committed to responsibly managing our oil wealth endowments. We will continue to prudently save our oil income and invest more in the non-oil job-creating sectors.

In this regard, we are significantly increasing investments in critical infrastructure. Last year, capital releases only commenced with the approval of the Budget in June 2018. However, as at 20th June this year, up to N1.74 trillion had been released for capital projects in the 2018 fiscal year.

Implementation of the 2019 Capital Budget, which was only approved in June 2019, will be accelerated to ensure that critical priority projects are completed or substantially addressed. The Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning have been directed to release N600 billion for Capital Expenditure in the next 3 months.

To maximise impact, we shall continue to increasingly welcome and encourage private capital for infrastructural development through Public-Private Partnerships. Through the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme, which I initiated in January this year, we are giving incentives to private sector inflow of over N205 billion in 19 Nigerian roads and bridges of 794.4km across in 11 States of the Federation.

As we push to diversify the economy, we still remain focused on optimizing the revenues generated from the oil and gas sector. We will, working with the Legislature, soon pass the Petroleum Industry Bill and amendments to the Deep Offshore Act and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contracts Act into law, to ensure Government obtains a fair share of oil revenues, whilst encouraging private sector investment.

We will also continue our fight against illegal bunkering of crude oil and the smuggling of refined petroleum products across our borders, including the diligent prosecution and conviction of offenders found guilty of these acts. Whilst Nigeria remains committed to free and fair continental and international trade, we will not hesitate to take all necessary steps to tackle illegal smuggling, transhipment and other predatory trade practices that destroy jobs in our country.

We are resolute in reforming the power sector. In August this year, we launched the Presidential Power Initiative to modernize the National Grid in 3 phases: starting from 5 Gigawatts to 7 Gigawatts, then to 11 Gigawatts by 2023, and finally 25 Gigawatts afterwards. This programme, in partnership with the German Government and Siemens, will provide end-to-end electrification solutions that will resolve our transmission and distribution challenges.

The programme will also look to localize the development and assembly of smart meters as well as the operations and maintenance capabilities of transmission and distribution infrastructure.

I am pleased with the improved inter-agency collaboration between the Ministry of Power and the regulators in the banking and power sectors to ensure that electricity sales, billings and collections are automated and become cashless.

These initiatives are important to ensure that the technical and collection losses in the sector are substantially reduced. I remain confident that Nigerians will have affordable and uninterrupted electricity supply in the not too distant future.

Our efforts to improve the power sector will complement other infrastructure investments projects under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund, which is investing in the Mambilla Power Plant project, as well as key economic road infrastructures such as the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Second Niger Bridge and Abuja-Kano Expressway. The first set of these projects remain on track to be completed by 2022.

Our journey to food security and self-sufficiency is well underway. We have made remarkable progress in almost all segments of the agriculture value chain, from fertilizers to rice, to animal feed production. We shall sustain these policies to ensure additional investments are channelled, thereby creating more jobs in the sector. We must not go back to the days of importing food and thereby exporting jobs.

Our commitment to achieving macroeconomic stability and economic diversification has been underscored by the merger of the Ministry of Finance with the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.

This combined Ministry has the important mandate to enhance the management of domestic and global fiscal risks; coordinate policies with the trade and monetary authorities; raise and deploy revenues to fund budgeted expenditure; integrate annual budgets and medium-term fiscal strategies.

With this, our revenue-generating and reporting agencies will come under much greater scrutiny, going forward, as the new performance management framework will reward exceptional revenue performance, while severe consequences will attend failures to achieve agreed revenue targets.

I recently constituted an Economic Advisory Council to advise me on inclusive and sustainable macroeconomic, fiscal and monetary policies. This independent body will work with relevant Cabinet members and the heads of key monetary, fiscal and trade agencies to ensure we remain on track as we strive for collective prosperity. However, we are also committed to ensure that the inconvenience associated with any painful policy adjustments, is moderated, such that the poor and the vulnerable, who are most at risk, do not bear the brunt.

Our ongoing N500 billion Special Intervention Programme continues to target these vulnerable groups, through the Home-grown School Feeding Programme, Government Economic Empowerment Programme, N-Power Job Creation Programme, loans for traders and artisans, Conditional Cash Transfers to the poorest families and social housing scheme.

To institutionalize these impactful programmes, we created the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development which shall consolidate and build on our achievements to date. To the beneficiaries of these programmes, I want to reassure you that our commitment to social inclusion will only increase.

Our population growth rate remains amongst the highest in the world, presenting both challenges as well as opportunities. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that we provide adequate resources to meet the basic needs of our teeming youth.

Accordingly, we shall continue to invest in education, health, water and sanitation, as well as food security, to ensure that their basic needs are met while providing them with every opportunity to live peaceful, prosperous and productive lives.

FIGHTING CORRUPTION AND RESTORING GOOD GOVERNANCE:

On fighting corruption, our institutional reforms to enforce the Treasury Single Account policy, introduce the Whistle-blowers’ Initiative, expand the coverage of the Integrated Payroll Personnel and Information System as well as the Government Integrated Management Information System have saved billions of Naira over the last four years, and deterred the rampant theft and mismanagement of public funds that have plagued our public service.

The Ministry of Justice, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will continue to address this menace. We are determined to ensure that transparency and good governance are institutionalized in public service.

We must commit to installing a culture of Good Governance in all we do. This Administration has fought against corruption, by investigating and prosecuting those accused of embezzlement and the misuse of public resources. We have empowered teams of prosecutors, assembled detailed databases of evidence, traced the proceeds of crimes and accelerated the recovery of stolen funds.

Furthermore, we partnered with our friends abroad to combat tax evasion, smuggling, terrorism and illicit financial flows. In June 2018, I assented to the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act, to provide a domestic legal framework for obtaining international assistance in criminal matters.

This measure has already strengthened our law enforcement agencies in obtaining evidence, investigating suspects and facilitating the recovery, forfeiture and confiscation of property implicated as proceeds of crime.

An example is the US$300 million recently identified as part of the Abacha money-laundering case, working closely with the Government of the United States of America. The Federal Ministry of Justice is working with the US Department of Justice to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding to expedite the repatriation of these funds.

The P & ID Arbitral Award has underscored the manner in which significant economic damage has been caused by the past activities of a few corrupt and unpatriotic Nigerians.

The policies that we are putting in place today are to ensure such criminal and unpatriotic acts do not go without consequences. Our renewed partnership with the 9th National Assembly will facilitate the swift passage of enabling laws that will institutionalize these anti-corruption efforts in our criminal justice system.

In this connection, I call upon our States to intensify their own efforts to instil greater fiscal transparency and accountability. And to ensure greater fiscal efficiency and optimum use of our very scarce resources.

The blight of Corruption is fighting back. Nevertheless, this is a battle that we shall see-through and this is a war, which we shall win by the Grace of God.

I will also call upon all Nigerians, from every walk of life, to combat corruption at every turn. By choosing to question and confront corrupt practices, by reporting unethical practices or through whistleblowing. Together, we can overcome corruption and will no longer be a country defined by corruption.

Fellow Nigerians, let me reiterate my call for unity across our dear nation.

Nigeria will emerge from our present challenges stronger and more resilient than ever – but only if all of us join hands to entrench Good Governance, foster Inclusive Economic Development, and defend and protect our Nation from all those who would wish us ill.

I thank you most sincerely and wish you a Happy Independence Anniversary.

May God bless you all, and may He continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Why PDP may win the Recount at Court of Appeal

Why PDP may win the Recount at Court of Appeal

The PDP and Ashiru had on May 25, applied to amend the motion to restrict vote recounts to only Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Zaria, Sabon Gari, Makarfi, Kudan, Kubau, Soba and Ikara local government areas mostly won by the APC.

However, Kurah said the petitioners’ appeal would be coming up for hearing on Thursday, June 27 at the Federal Court of Appeal.

The Counsel said that the petitioners would put a strong submission for the appeal to scale through.

On the ongoing trial before the tribunal, Kurah said the petitioners would prune their witnesses from the 685 they earlier assembled as the 47 witnesses they had so far presented before the Tribunal had covered most of the issues they had raised in their petition.

The Justice Ibrahim Bako-led tribunal had admitted 15 witnesses on Thursday apart from the 32 who testified on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The witnesses were mostly PDP agents and returning officers from Zaria and Kaduna North LGs who accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of failure to conduct elections in those areas.

Meanwhile, the tribunal has adjourned until Friday, to take more witnesses from the petitioners and also rule on the application for adjournment to enable the team of counsel to get some rest.

His words: “You know how much I laboured to get here. I ran three times in the past. The fourth time, God used technology to do it for me. The fifth time I ran (February 23, 2019), I went to all the states of the federation. The turnout of crowds was overwhelming.

“Truly, the people know and understand my mission. This is what the votes showed. The administration will dwell on our campaign issues — security, economy, and corruption. We will fight for the poor,” President Buhari said.

Emphasizing the importance of agriculture under his “Next Level” administration, President Buhari noted that the next minister of Agriculture will be someone who is knowledgeable and will know how to promote interest and investment in the sector.

His words:  “I will appoint a minister who knows agriculture and its role in providing jobs and growing our economy. You have seen how we broke the fertiliser jinx in the country. We will do more to better the lots of our farmers. Agriculture is our strength,” he added.

Speaking further, the President expressed excitement with the changing attitude of young Nigerians towards agriculture, with many earning respectable incomes.

President Buhari urged all Nigerians without regular incomes to return to the farm.

Simon Achuba Narrates How he Was Impeached

Simon Achuba Narrates How he Was Impeached

The embattled former lawmaker called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop what he described as “lawlessness” going on in Kogi State.

Narrating what transpired after he was impeached, Simon Achuba said: “I was in my official residence on Friday, all of a sudden, my power was disconnected. Unknown to me, Police barricaded my house. My security were all withdrawn. I called the Commissioner of Police to inform him, the response I got from him was not pleasant.

“For me to know what is going on and who I was dealing with, I instructed my private security to switch on the generator set.

“To my greatest surprise, some armed police officers escorted a technician, went straight to the generator set, disconnected it and went away with the battery. Their intention is to frustrate me and cut me off from accessing the world.

“My personal belongings are still in the office. They denied me from carrying anything that belongs to me. As if I am a common criminal who should be treated with disdain.

” If a deputy governor could be treated like a common criminal, what will now happen to the common man on the street?

“As I am seated here, I don’t have any car to convey me anywhere. I have been trekking from one place to another on foot. For how long will this continue. We are not in a banana republic?”

Speaking further, Achuba urged Buhari and security agencies to stop the impending crisis his illegal impeachement may cause in Kogi State.

He, however, thanked the judiciary, the panel members for standing by the truth, adding that he remains the Deputy Governor of the State.

“The action of the governor and the former Chief of Staff is not only an embarrassment to the nation, but also a setback to the All Progressives Congress,” he said.

Rather than landing on the first touch-line of the runway, the pilot over short it, due to rain and heavy wind, landing on the third touch-line.

NAN reports that, on realizing this, the pilot quickly manouvered the plane back air, flying out of the Lagos airport.

After hovering around between Lagos and areas suspected to be in Ogun, causing panic in passengers and crew members, the plane landed in Lagos airport, some 20 minutes after the initial false landing.

The atmosphere in the aircraft upon landing was a replica of what is obtainable in some Nigerian worship centers, as many passengers broke out into worship songs and clapping, while some fell to their knees in prayer.

The duty manager and Chief Customer Service (Nigeria) of the airline, Mr. Otori Jimoh Otan, told NAN that if the pilot had continued taxing down after landing on the third touchline, he would have overshot the runway.

“But this is an experienced pilot. He realized this immediately.

“Fortunately, the distance between when he realized the situation still permitted him to take off and renegotiate landing,” Otori said.

Obasanjo and Olukanni had both attended a Stakeholders Dialogue on Continental Trade and Strengthening Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) which ended on Tuesday in Addis Ababa.

“The world leaders must understand why they must support outright freedom of Biafra people from Nigeria without much delay.

“Buhari and his Fulani government in Nigeria have totally destroyed this country and we must let the world know what Nigeria has become.

“IPOB is going to stage a powerful protest against him in US for the purpose of standing against the continued and incessant killing, arrest and secret abductions of Biafrans both men, women and in a very broad range to stop IPOB from demanding their rights for free state of Biafran nation. The whole world will see IPOB right in front of UN headquarters in New York.”

He added that IPOB will not retreat nor relent in the pursuit for free and liberation of Biafran people.

“Our meeting with UN officials last week were frank and forthright. If there were doubts before in their minds that Nigeria is one almighty calamity, the feeling we got after our discussions is that they now have a proper appreciation and deeper understanding of how irredeemably hopeless the case for one Nigeria has become in light of the reign of impunity, poverty, repression, unbridled corruption and collapse of the legal system.

“The well-marshalled case for Biafra self-determination by our leader and prophet of our time Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was all too apparent for them to see and persuasively argued to their understanding that IPOB will not retreat nor relent in the pursuit for free and liberation of Biafran people,” Powerful said.

But despite the feat, it is believed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will  get rid of him because he has a poor rapport with the fans.

The report noted that Lampard would be welcomed back with open arms by the Stamford Bridge faithful after he spent 13 glorious years with them as a player.

This online news platform recalls that Lampard made 648 appearances for the Blues and is still the club’s all-time leading scorer with 211 goals.

Since his retirement from playing, he has proved his credentials as a manager after an impressive season with Derby County, with the club having just a game to win and gain promotion to the English Premier League.

The ex-England midfielder has guided the Rams to the Championship play-offs after 20 wins and 14 draws in 46 games.

Lampard claimed earlier this week that Chelsea need to put their trust in youngsters which would be good news for the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi, should Lampard get the gig.

“Of course it will be disappointing to lose him [Hazard] for the Premier League, but particularly Chelsea,” Lampard had said.

Okorocha vs Ihedioha

A report monitored on News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by Naija News, says a trending video on Thursday, captured some thugs beating Ndubuaku at Okorocha’s residence on Spibatt Avenue in Owerri.

Rabiu Ladodo, the Commissioner of Police in the state, and the Secretary to State Government confirmed the development to journalists at a joint news briefing in Owerri.

The Police Commissioner and SSG announced that a citizen’s arrest had been declared on Okorocha over the incident.

Both men alleged that the former governor of the state hired thugs to attack Ndubuaku, who doubles as Special Adviser to Governor Ihedioha on Security matters.

The Police Commissioner and SSG said Okorocha, who represents Imo West at the Nigerian Senate, would be arrested and prosecuted anytime he entered the state.

Ndubuaku, who narrated his ordeal to NAN, alleged that he was beaten at Okorocha’s residence and thrown into a gutter by some thugs.

The assaulted government official alleged that he was first held hostage for some hours by the thugs in the presence of security men attached to Okorocha’s residence.

Ndubuaku said that the recovery team obtained a court order to search Okorocha’s house.

His words: “We got a court order to recover stolen properties kept in Okorocha’s house and when we got to his house on Thursday, armed thugs attacked us.

“There are twenty government vehicles in his house, four Speed Boats, one movable crane and generator sets, which we went to recover before the incident.

“We will not give up the battle, we will go back to his house because the property belongs to Imo government,” Ndubuaku said.

Reacting to the government’s order, the Special Assistant on Media to the former governor, Sam Onwuemeodo, said the recovery committee was attacked by the former governor’s sympathizers and passersby.

Onwuemeodo said the recovery team went to Okorocha’s house without a court order, adding that they invaded Okorocha’s residence with no fewer than 50 thugs.
