All Progressives Congress, APC presidential aspirant, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has pushed forward the launch of his presidential campaign from October 8, campaign officials have told Afric TV.
The deferment, it was learnt, was upon the fact that a number of close associates of the aspirant were out of the country for the Islamic pilgrimage to the Saudi Arabia and the closeness of the launch to the Adamawa State gubernatorial bye election, which is due on October 11.
A leading campaign official and former minister of state for petroleum, Alhaji Umaru Dhembo confirmed the postponement in a telephone chat with Afric TV..
“Yes it is true but we have not yet confirmed the new date but it will be after the Adamawa election.”
Asked why it was postponed, he said:
“With Adamawa election with our experience with Ekiti, we do not want our people to be blocked as they did in Ekiti,” he said.
